Joshua Issac using a tablet computer

Me at the 2012 PASS Awards Ceremony.

I am Joshua Issac. I am a student reading MSci Pure Mathematics and Computer Science with an Industrial Year at the University of Birmingham. I live in Preston, England but I am originally from Cochin, India, and I have lived in Northampton, England for most of my life. I have a strong interest in mathematics and computing, and I write for the technology section in my university’s student newspaper, Redbrick.

In my free time, I enjoy programming in Visual Basic .NET and Java. I like reading, and my favourite fictional works include Harry Potter and Iliad & Odyssey. I edit Wikipedia, to which I have made thousands of contributions. I also volunteer as the Head of IT at Birmingham Student Consulting, and as a STEM Ambassador at my university, which means I go to schools to encourage students to get involved in the fields of science, technology, engineering and mathematics.
